“Leading A Multi-Generational Workforce” Seminars

The last two seminars in the CBA’s 6-part series focusing on attracting, recruiting & retaining Millennial professionals will be at KMGH-TV on November 9th from 10am to 2:15pm.  The presentations are a collaboration with University of Colorado Colorado Springs instructor Scott Van Ness.  Scott developed and facilitated this seminar for the university’s College of Business and has been invited to present his findings across the country.

Each seminar will last approximately 90 minutes and audiences will be capped at 25 attendees per seminar. Two seminars will be presented in November. Attendees will have the choice to attend one or both of the seminars and enjoy a light lunch on behalf of the CBA.  Registration is currently open for the last two seminars on November 9th using the form at the bottom of this page.

The entire series is free and available to CBA members only.

Below is a detailed description of the 6 seminars:

Seminar 1: Who are the Millennials?
This session explains the commonalities and differences between our newest, and soon to be biggest, workforce generation and the current workforce generations. The session will introduce strategies for effective motivation of Millennial employees.

Participants will learn:

  • Comparison of the four current workforce generations and how each view the workplace
  • Why Millennials are positive for your teams
  • Basic motivation concepts and strategies for the Millennial workforce

Seminar 2: Motivation & Loyalty of the Millennial Workforce
Organizations have heavily invested time and money in attracting and recruiting Millennial employees, without seeing the interest in working for their company or industry. Similarly, organizations have invested even more time and money into their current Millennial employees, only to see them leave soon after. This session will focus on understanding Millennial loyalty, what companies can do to attract top talent, what really motivates your Millennial workforce, and how to invest in them.

Participants will learn:

  • Building loyalty from your Millennial workforce
  • Understanding workplace motivation for Millennial team members
  • If it’s not all about the salary, then what is it?

Seminar 3: Building Long-Term Strategies to Keep and Motivate your Largest Workforce Generation – Part 1
Your organization’s mission and place in the community are extremely important to your Millennial employees. Additionally, understanding how to evaluate and engage your Millennial team members is vital to retention. Seminars 3 and 4 will focus on effective strategies for motivating the newest workforce generation and retaining them for the long term.

Participants will learn:

  • Developing performance evaluation strategies that will better evaluate and encourage Millennial performance

Seminar 4: Building Long-Term Strategies to Keep and Motivate your Largest Workforce Generation – Part 2
Your organization’s mission and place in the community are extremely important to your Millennial employees. Additionally, understanding how to evaluate and engage your Millennial team members is vital to retention. Sessions 3 and 4 will focus on effective strategies for motivating the newest workforce generation and retaining them for the long term.

Participants will learn:

  • Establishing mission/vision strategies that motivate Millennial team members

11/9/17 – Seminar 5: Leading a Multi-Generational Workforce – Part 1
Many organizations have workforces that encompass three, even four, separate workplace generations. Finding the balance to obtain successful results from a multi-generational team can be challenging. This two-part series will examine the differences in what motivates these workplace generations and how to develop a basic plan to bring the workplace generations together.

Participants will learn:

  • Establishing effective communication strategies that overcome workplace generation differences
  • Developing strategies for understanding and communicating the nuances of workplace boundaries and job etiquette

11/9/17 – Seminar 6: Leading a Multi-Generational Workforce – Part 2
This session will explore a strategic approach to building a multigenerational workforce ready for long-range challenges.

Participants will learn:

  • Building mission/vision statements along with implementation strategies that invigorate and challenge all workplace generations
  • Address the challenges of work life balance and what that means to different workplace generations
