Royal Gorge Broadcasting Hires New GM

March 20, 2017

PRESS RELEASE

Royal Gorge Broadcasting is proud to announce the hiring of Steve Etheridge as the new General Manager of KRLN & StarCountry 104.5.

Steve has been in the radio broadcast industry since 1990.  Southern Colorado probably knows him best for his on-air persona “Uncle Steve” during morning show stints at Colorado Springs’ KKCS in the 90’s, as well as KBIQ in the early-to-mid 2000’s.  In 2006, he moved his family to Austin, TX where he helped launch Clear Channel Communications’ only Contemporary Christian Music station KPEZ (later KFMK).  Steve has also served as operations manager, program director, music director, and production director at various stops during his career.  He has spent the past three years in the trucking industry in the Austin area.

Steve has been happily married to Patty since 1990.  They have a daughter Jenni, a wiener dog named Daisy, and “a herd of birds.”

In his spare time Steve enjoys camping, movies, and attending sporting events – especially NASCAR races and hockey games.

RGB spokesperson Lisa Simon states, “KRLN & StarCountry are known to be great community supporters.  This will not change.  With the hiring of Steve, we are excited about bringing fresh ideas and a new approach to our listeners and to our clients!”
