ABIP Applications Close May 31st
The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is now being offered every year from early spring to late fall.
With Colorado's own John Baich acting as ABIP inspector, the program is now available every year. This provides a solution for stations that failed prior inspections, are undergoing ownership changes or would simply like to have the peace of mind, and certificate, confirming their stations are in compliance.
Stations found in-compliance are granted a 3 year grace period, during which stations are exempted from further routine inspections by the FCC. Any non-compliance found by the inspector will not be reported to the FCC nor any other governmental agency. A detailed report of any non-compliance items and "best practices" is provided after each inspection.
If your station is in need of an ABIP inspection this summer, use the link below for more details, pricing and an application. |

The CBA has recently engaged Colorado’s Congressional delegation on two important federal issues impacting broadcasters and consumers alike. First, we are encouraging lawmakers to carefully reexamine the Sports Broadcasting Act as more premium sports programming moves behind fragmented streaming paywalls, reducing free public access for viewers. Second, we continue actively advocating for passage of the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act (H.R. 979), which remains critical to preserving AM radio’s role in emergency communications and public safety, particularly across rural Colorado.
We encourage broadcasters to reinforce these messages directly with their own Members of Congress and staff. Personal outreach from local stations continues to be one of the most effective ways to demonstrate the real-world impact broadcasting has on the communities we serve. If you would like contact information for your Congressional delegation or a sample outreach email, please contact the CBA. |
