Human Resources Engagement Intern

The Human Resources Engagement Intern helps RMPM to create and foster an organizational environment that values inclusion, development, diversity and growth for all employees. The HR Engagement Intern will be honed in on RMPM's culture and seeks to continuously improve the employee experience in response to their input. The HR Engagement Intern will be instrumental in the furthering of organization-wide programs, strategies, and goals as they relate to our people, culture, and business. The ideal candidate for this role is reliable, organized, forward-thinking, and committed to the ever-evolving world of HR.

This internship position will start with a small cohort of fellow interns on June 3, 2024. Selected candidates may expect to work anywhere from 10-12 weeks, depending on their class schedule. This internship opportunity offers 15-20 hours of work per week depending on class schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and plan summer open enrollment/HR Benefits Fair

  • Curate Monthly HR Newsletter

  • Collect, interpret, and report on Summer Employee Engagement Survey results

  • Support HR events such as quarterly new hire lunches, engagement survey incentive activities, quarterly DEI training, and all staff strategy days.

  • Assist with recruiting activities, including but are not limited to creating and posting jobs, conducting reference checks, and drafting offer letters

  • Create and maintain various training materials, standard work documents, process & user guides where needed

  • Assist in updating, importing, reporting, and exporting data into our various systems

  • Assist with curating and posting company content for employees using SharePoint (company intranet)

  • Plan engagement activities for summer intern cohort, such as lunch and learns, mixers, and more

  • Respond to various HR inquiries and direct to appropriate channels

  • Develop and propose one engagement initiative that RMPM should consider implementing in the future

  • Attend weekly HR Department meetings

  • Actively participate in RMPM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program

  • Other tasks as assigned and/or required.

Minimum Qualifications of Position

  • High school degree or equivalent

  • Must be currently enrolled in, or have recently graduated from, a program at an accredited college, university, or technical school

  • A mix of demonstrated skills, abilities and knowledge will be considered in place of education requirements

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe, Canva, or equivalent system(s)

  • Demonstrated awareness of global and cultural issues; ability to understand multiple cultural and community perspectives.

  • Basic knowledge or interest in HR practices in areas such as employment law, regulatory compliance, employee relations, ADA preferred

  • Utilizes multiple perspectives to ensure all staff feel valued, and inclusive and equitable practices are embedded in the organizational culture at large.

  • Must be able to work both independently and as a collaborative and productive team member.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally and productively with persons at all levels.

  • Must possess exceptional time management, decision making and organizational skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented with an ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work within established budgets and guidelines.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in office, studio, editing, and/or field environments. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasionally long hours including some evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel throughout the state and beyond, on occasion.
