98.5 KYGO is seeking a morning show Executive Producer.

Position Overview

The producer will help create a quality radio show five days a week, finding quality stories and audio clips targeting a multi-cultural audience.  The Executive Producer will learn what Colorado adult country listeners are interested in, understand what piques their interest, and help create quality content show prep to help drive an audience to become lyoal users.  This morning show Executive Producer will bring energy and drive to weekday broadcasts.  The Executive Producer will aslo be on microphone at times.  This role will also help create content for our digital platforms before, during and after the show. The shift is generally 5am-1pm.  The show airs from 6am-10am with replay content airing daily from 5a-6a.

Note:  Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

  • This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Denver Tech Center studios.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a consistent, high degree of station branding.
  • Provide clerical and operations assistance to assure smooth airing of station’s programming
  • including assuring reliable, timely, error-free delivery of terrestrial radio and digital media
  • programming, adhering to commercial logs.
  • Must show a willingness to understand and develop stories for targeted audience.
  • Find, evaluate, and research daily content and pitch ideas
  • Provide topical background research, analyze and anticipate news, culture and entertainment

trends

  • Find, record, edit and mix audio on tight deadline
  • Produce, edit, upload and distribute daily show social media benchmarks
  • Contribute to station and show social media channels
  • Collaborate with other teams across brands and departments to maintain brand consistency

and efficiently use finite station resources.

  • Set up Comrex, Skype, etc. and manage the technical aspects of the show.
  • Conceptualize and develop production elements (or “benchmarks“ and features) to enhance

show/station presentation and sound.

  • Experience in operation of broadcast equipment. Able to properly operate studio equipment

and possess basic production skills.

  • Contribute to our digital properties (column, feature, etc.) on a daily basis.
  • Monitor and coordinate listener calls, interviews and benchmark actors
  • Be able to lead and guide morning team in areas of efficiency – being a Program Director for the show
  • Interface daily with KYGO Program Director, collaborating on carrying out station and organization goals
  • Assist with KYGO station programming overall and especially with post show integration
  • Assist with other digital and social opportunities for other stations in cluster (KOSI, KKFN) as needed.

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Display consistent news judgment and understand a politically sensitive information to the audience.
  • Must be well organized and highly attentive to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure and effectively handle stress and assure on-air host(s) receive
  • material for broadcast on time.
  • Excellent time management skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to accept direction and be flexible with changes.
  • Ability and willingness to understand and execute format philosophy and work with a team of other professionals in creating a distinctive sound.
  • Able to effectively use RCS Zetta, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere/Elements, Vox Pro, Wheatstone audio board and social media tools.
  • Able to consistently work hours required. Works more, if required, to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative rapport and effective communication with staff,
  • management, and clients.
  • Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Proven ability for accuracy and follow-through and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate, receive and interpret instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Program Director and on-air experience at a large market
  • Comfort level being on-air, including but not limited to producing recorded or live features on-

air.

  • Ability to effectively produce written and sophisticated media (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition) content for social media assets

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation Range

 $50,000-$70,000

Salary will be determined by an evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal and external benchmarks.

This role is eligible to earn quarterly/annual bonuses based on performance and hitting established metrics.
