For many broadcast stations going through the FCC’s license renewal process, there is a new and unpleasant consequence of having pubic inspection files online for the FCC to review remotely. The FCC has started imposing on stations, with incomplete political files, the now-dreaded “consent decree”, forcing stations to adopt compliance plans and submit compliance reports. Moreover, there is talk that the FCC may expand this practice to other aspects of public file compliance.
If you were lucky enough to receive one of these little “love notes” from the FCC, or worried that one might be coming your way, don’t panic, you’re not alone. To unravel post-renewal consent decrees and other issues, the CBA is proud to welcome back Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth attorneys Frank Montero and Anne Crump for a webinar explaining what the FCC is doing, what to expect, and how to navigate the consent decree and public file compliance plans.
Registration closes August 8th at 5:00 p.m.
