The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit that encourages employers to hire targeted groups of job seekers. WOTC can reduce employer federal tax liability by as much as $2,400 to $9,600 per new hire. The Colorado Department of Labor & Employment has teamed with the CBA to bring statewide awareness to this tax credit opportunity. |

FCC Sets 2025 Annual Regulatory Fees
The FCC has published the 2025 regulatory fees for radio and TV licensees — and there’s good news: broadcasters will pay less than they did last year. The CBA continues to file yearly comments advocating for additional fee relief for our members.
TV fees, listed by call letters, can be found at this link. Radio fees are in the table below.
The due date has not been set, but as in prior years will likely be toward the end of September. As of this writing, the FCC's payment portal is not live. Updates will be provided via this newsletter. |

New EAS Code for Missing & Endangered Persons Takes Effect September 8
From John Baich, State Emergency Communications Committee
September 8 is the effective date of the new EAS Missing and Endangered Persons event code to be used by all EAS Participants, including broadcast stations. In August 2024, the FCC adopted a Report and Order creating a new EAS event code for persons over the age of 17 who are missing or abducted from states, territories, or tribal communities (known as Ashanti Alerts), but delayed its effective date to provide EAS Participants with enough time to update their EAS systems to use the code. |
