The Colorado Broadcasters Association continues to fight for broadcasters at both the state and federal levels and your membership directly powers that advocacy. This past year, the CBA helped advance the AM Radio in Every Vehicle Act closer than ever to passage in Congress, successfully fought back against efforts to introduce categorical advertising bans through Colorado online gaming legislation, and continued defending newsroom access and transparency through advocacy surrounding CORA and Open Meetings Laws. We also proudly launched the inaugural Colorado Broadcasters Hall of Fame and celebrated another tremendously successful Awards of Excellence program with overwhelming participation from stations across Colorado.

But don’t worry — the CBA’s new fiscal year begins July 1st, and we will once again be accepting scholarship applications at that time!
The Broadcast Education & Development Program is designed to help Colorado broadcasters grow through educational opportunities that strengthen our industry. Each year, the CBA allocates funding to support employees of member stations attending conferences, training programs, continuing education courses, and virtual learning opportunities.

Quarterly Tower Lighting System Inspection
2026 Q2 ends this month (June), which means stations owning their towers must complete and document their “Quarterly Tower Lighting System Inspection.”
Let’s review the basic responsibility of tower owners whose towers must meet FAA painting/lighting requirements. Not all towers with an Antenna Structure Registration number (ASR) are required to meet specific FAA lighting/marking. |
