This fast-paced session will examine the most significant provisions in the new four-year contracts, including developments related to AI, vertical microdramas, wage increases, residuals, and scheduling protections. Attendees will gain a practical understanding of how these agreements affect financial planning, compensation structures, and production economics, while also exploring the unique negotiations that allowed SAG-AFTRA to secure enhanced streaming residuals without triggering parallel demands from the WGA and DGA. The webinar is presented by Jonathan Handel, entertainment attorney, journalist, and one of the industry’s foremost experts on Hollywood unions and guilds. A partner with Feig/Finkel and principal of the Law Offices of Jonathan Handel, he has spent decades advising guild members and producers while teaching courses on Hollywood unions and guilds at UCLA, USC, and Southwestern Law School. Jonathan is the author of four books on the guilds, a Rutgers research fellow specializing in residuals, and has served as both WGA Associate Counsel and SAG-AFTRA Outside Special Counsel. His extensive journalism career includes coverage for The Hollywood Reporter, HuffPost, and Puck, where he reported on the 2023 Hollywood strikes. A graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard College, he brings unparalleled insight into the labor, legal, and financial issues shaping the entertainment industry today.
