Biography

Mark Cornetta has been a prominent leader in Colorado broadcasting for more than three decades, guiding KUSA and KTVD through periods of significant technological and industry change. He began his career at KUSA in 1987 as National Sales Manager, later serving as Local Sales Manager and General Sales Manager before being named President and General Manager in 2005. In 2014, Gannett (now TEGNA) promoted him to Senior Vice President while retaining oversight of KUSA and KTVD, expanding his leadership to include management of multiple stations within the TEGNA group and oversight of broadcast revenue operations.

Under his leadership, KUSA maintained its position as a market leader in ratings, innovation, and community service. Cornetta played a pivotal role in the transition from analog to digital television, earning him the Colorado Broadcasters Association’s Rex Howell Broadcaster of the Year award in 2009. His commitment to journalistic integrity, community engagement, and technological advancement has set a standard for excellence in Colorado broadcasting. Cornetta was inducted into the NATAS Silver Circle in 2023 in recognition of his enduring contributions to the industry.
