Reason for Running

As a lifelong broadcaster and passionate advocate for local journalism, I am honored to be considered for a seat on the Colorado Broadcasters Association Board of Directors. Throughout my career—spanning roles in radio and television, from newsrooms to the corner office—I have remained deeply committed to the core mission of public service. I believe in the power of local media to inform, uplift, and connect our communities. Whether serving viewers in Nebraska, Mississippi, or now in Colorado Springs, I’ve worked to uphold the highest standards of journalism while supporting innovation and sustainability in our industry.

My leadership experience, both professionally and in civic organizations, reflects a broad understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing broadcasters today—especially in small or non-metro markets. I have served on multiple industry boards and have a record of driving results, from growing local news operations to earning national recognition for community service and excellence in broadcasting. As General Manager of KKTV, I am proud to lead a station that champions transparency, the First Amendment, and the vital role of local media in our democracy. I would be honored to bring this perspective and experience to the CBA board, working collaboratively to ensure Colorado broadcasters continue to thrive and serve with purpose.

I would come to the CBA Board with this specific experience:
 2021 – 2024: Active Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Board member. Volunteer on committees to organize inaugural Student Educational Conferences and Women in Broadcasting Award Luncheon. Attend DC lobbying events. Assist in yearly conference organization.
 2020 – 2024: Represent WTOK and Gray Television in Washington DC for lobbying initiatives.
