Colorado Broadcasters Mourn the Loss of Bette Bailly

Bette Memorial for Web

In 1967, Bette went to work at KNAB-AM in Burlington, Colorado, as their Electronic Engineer. When she first arrived she didn’t like the area and decided to stay for thirty days, Bette would have celebrated 50 years at KNAB-AM/FM in 2017.

Bette’s commitment to the broadcast industry was supported by her 15 years of voluntary service on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Broadcasters Association (CBA).  She also served on the National Association of Broadcasters’ Small Market Board.

At home, Bette believed in giving back to her community, giving her time to the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Morgan Community College Advisory Board, Kit Carson County Fair Board and serving on the board of Dynamic Dimensions, Inc., an organization for mentally and physically challenged people.

Bette was an active member of her church as well, serving on the Church Council, teaching classes, and serving as a communion minister.

Throughout her career, Bette was recognized with the Athena Goddess Award, the CBA’s Broadcast Citizen of the Year Award, the Rotary D.O. Monroe Award and in 2003 she was inducted into the Colorado Broadcast Pioneers Colorado Hall of Fame.

Bette will be missed by her staff, community and her broadcast family at the CBA.
