DENVER, CO— For the past six weeks, KOSI 101.1 and Smashburger have been collecting new stuffed animals at Front Range Smashburger locations to give to first responders who give them to children they encounter who are in a stressful or traumatic situation.
The 2024 KOSI 101.1 Teddy Bear Patrol collected 6,122 stuffed animals which is a new record. “First responders as well as some former recipients have told us what a difference this makes,” said Jim Lawson, Program Director. “Helping others is a key fabric of KOSI 101.1, our parent company Bonneville International Corporation, and everyone in Colorado. It’s who we are,” he added.
In addition to Smashburger locations, the Colorado DMV collected over 1,000 stuffed animals statewide and the DoubleTree by Hilton DTC collected over four hundred and the Street Soldierz Motorcycle Club, Dominions Chapter donated $500.
