SECC Satellite Radio Request Form

By submitting this request and agreeing to these terms, the applicant acknowledges that they are seeking a SiriusXM satellite receiver (SXEZR1H1 Onyx EZR Satellite Radio with Home Kit) provided by the Colorado Broadcasters Association (CBA) at the direction of the State Emergency Communications Committee (SECC) as a public safety support tool, and not as equipment required for regulatory EAS compliance.

The SiriusXM receiver is provided solely for monitoring national-level EAS alerts and must remain tuned to the free preview channel (typically Channel 1) and the Radio ID channel on Channel 0. The Station is not permitted to use this receiver for any subscribed or paid services.

Upon approval, CBA will purchase and ship the receiver to the requesting station at its own cost; however, CBA will not reimburse stations for devices acquired independently. CBA retains full ownership of the receiver, and the device is provided “as is,” with CBA bearing no responsibility for malfunction, repair, or replacement.

The station agrees to install, maintain, and operate the receiver in accordance with applicable EAS rules and technical standards, and CBA, or a representative of the CBA, may request evidence of installation, configuration, or ongoing use at any time. The station further agrees to return the receiver within 30 days of any FCC-approved change in operating status, including but not limited to permanent cessation of broadcasting, a city-of-license modification removing the station from serving counties within its assigned Local Area Plan, or the loss of designation or function as a Local Primary 1 (LP1) or Local Primary 2 (LP2).

Requests for receivers do not require CBA membership, but eligibility is limited to Colorado LP1 and LP2 stations as designated in the Colorado State Plan and/or recognized by the State Emergency Communications Committee.
